Easy Sugar Skull Journal Page
Some days, there just isn't the time to sit down and create a fresh journal page from scratch. To keep those creative juices flowing it helps to have a few quick and easy techniques which can be used to quickly put together a page.
I started with a background put together from scraps of Ephemera Collage tissue paper by Ruby & Hazel, Dylusions Acrylic Paint in London Blue, Bubblegum Pink, and Fresh Lime, and scraps from a tracing paper print (Tracing Paper printing video) of my own design. As the background was covered in Liquitex Basics Gloss Gel Medium, a layer of Daler-Rowney Acrylic Gesso was needed to begin the journal page.
By using a wood sugar skull form (available in the Halloween section of many craft stores), a few stencils, and Dylusions Spray Inks in Funky Fuschia, Lemon Zest, Pure Sunshine, Fresh Lime, Postbox Red, and Calypso Teal, a page can be quickly assembled.
In today's tutorial I used a sugar skull; however, these techniques and be easily adapted for any theme.
